Generating a HAR File for Troubleshooting

Guide to Generating and Sending HAR Files for Oversai

Sometimes, the Oversai support team may require additional technical information to investigate an issue. In these cases, they may request a HAR file, which logs network requests made by the browser. It's also helpful to include browser console logs, and in some cases, Windows log files.

Important note: HAR files contain data such as cookies and details of the pages loaded during a session. These may include personal or confidential information. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to handle them securely. You can use tools like Cloudflare's HAR debugger to remove sensitive data before sharing.

1. How to generate HAR files

Choose your browser for specific instructions:

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to the page where you experienced the issue.

  2. Click the three-dot menu > "More tools" > "Developer tools".

  3. In the "Network" tab, ensure:

    • The recording button (red circle) is active. If it's gray, click to start recording.

    • The "Preserve log" checkbox is selected.

    • Clear any previous logs by clicking the delete icon (circle with a line).

  4. Reproduce the issue while network activity is being recorded.

  5. Click "Export HAR" or "Save as HAR with content" to download the file.

  6. Send the HAR file to your Oversai account manager.

Capturing Console Logs in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to the page where you are experiencing the issue.

  2. Go to the "Console" tab in the developer tools panel.

  3. Take a screenshot of any visible errors.

  4. Send the evidence to your Oversai account manager.
